Eleanor has played violin for over a decade, completed a Bachelor of Music in Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium (Distinction) and been awarded her AMusA diploma on the violin. Throughout her Bachelor’s degree, Eleanor came to realise that her main love is teaching the violin, and has now been teaching privately, and with The Music Generation, for close to three years. She has also tutored at various beginner and junior strings camps around Brisbane. In order to explore her love of teaching further, this year Eleanor has been undertaking an Honours research project at the Queensland Conservatorium. with a focus on pedagogy.
At Eleanor’s studio, she cares about each of her students, and tries to understand who they each are as individuals in order to more effectively instruct them. She therefore tailors her lessons to suit each individual student, whether they are preparing for an AMEB exam, just beginning their instrument or simply playing for fun.
Eleanor also wants her students to love what they are doing because, in the end, that is the most important part of being a musician.
