Emma is an accomplished vocalist who has always held a passion for performing and teaching voice. Her teaching centres around helping her students express themselves through music and singing, to get the most out of their voices and establish sustainable vocal habits. Emma has worked with singers from beginners to professionals, of all ages.
Emma holds a Masters Degree in Vocal Pedagogy from Griffith University Conservatorium, where she studied under renowned vocal guru Irene Bartlett; as well as a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Queensland University of Technology. In addition to her private voice studio, Emma is currently a lecturer and voice teacher in the Bachelor of Contemporary Music Performance course at JMC Academy Brisbane. She is also the Secretary of the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing (ANATS) Queensland committee, which is responsible for providing professional development opportunities for singing teachers.
Emma has been actively performing throughout Queensland for many years, as a lead and backing vocalist in a range of contemporary styles. Highlights include performances at the Brisbane Riverstage, the Brisbane Festival Spiegletent, the Globe, the Zoo, the Brisbane Powerhouse, and many other venues throughout Queensland.
Although experienced in a wide variety of musical styles, Emma’s speciality is in Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM), especially Pop, Rock, R&B, Jazz and Musical Theatre, with a particular interest in helping you to develop the skills necessary to be a successful contemporary vocalist in an holistic and healthy manner.
