Leah is passionate about teaching piano and makes it her mission to cater to each student’s unique musical needs and desires to make lessons motivating, rewarding, and fun. She has successfully taken on students as young as 3 years, but also has found a niche in teaching adult beginners.

Leah completed her Bachelor of Music Studies in November of 2004, with Awards in Academic Excellence in each year, and obtained First Class Honours in 2010, majoring in Piano Pedagogy. Next year Leah will return to complete her PhD.

Having completed all grades in Electric Organ and moving onto pipe organ at university, under the internationally acclaimed Christopher Wrench’s direction, Leah found piano to be a natural progression. As well as private music tuition, her musical experience includes mentoring Music Theory at the Griffith Conservatorium of Music, as well as work for the Music Council of Australia, Fine-Print Music Printing and Typesetting, and the Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre.

A creative enthusiast who lives and breathes music., Tashka is a strong advocate for youth through community workshops and her private teaching endeavours of 11 years.

In the past five of these years Tashka developed her own music career-path curriculum, with the most successful of these streams guiding young artists (aged 12-16) through writing/recording their own CDs, receiving radio play, engaging in live performance and cross-art collaboration with theatre productions.

Tashka’s lessons are packed with musical games with a focus on teaching for individual needs rather than a set model for all. A strong base in Classical Music (10 years of study and AMEB examinations), a passion for jamming (ranging through many styles) and an unending thirst for composition (three short filmscores completed already for 2011) makes for a well-rounded music platter.

Although still new to Brisbane, she has fallen in love with its community and lush green landscapes and looks forward to calling it her musical home.

Emma is an accomplished vocalist who has always held a passion for performing and teaching voice. Her teaching centres around helping her students express themselves through music and singing, to get the most out of their voices and establish sustainable vocal habits. Emma has worked with singers from beginners to professionals, of all ages.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Queensland University of Technology. She is also currently undertaking postgraduate studies at the Griffith University Conservatorium of Music, completing a Graduate Diploma in Vocal Pedagogy.

In addition to her studies, Emma has been actively performing throughout Queensland for many years, as a lead and backing vocalist in a range of contemporary styles. Highlights include performances at the Brisbane Riverstage, the Brisbane Festival Spiegletent, the Globe, the Zoo, the Brisbane Powerhouse, and many other venues throughout Queensland.

Natalie has been teaching the violin for over 15 years and has taught people of all ages, from primary school to adults. Her students have ranged from beginners to tertiary level violinists.

Natalie began her violin studies at the age of 7. In 2003, she completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree from the Queensland Conservatorium studying under the esteemed violinist and pedagogue, Carmel Kaine. She has since completed a Masters Degree in Music (2006) and a Doctor of Musical Arts (2010) from Michigan State University under tutelage of Walter Verdehr.

Natalie has played numerous recitals both within Australia and the United States. In addition to this, she is also an avid chamber musician. As part of the string quartet “Fyra” she was a finalist in the Australian Chamber Music Competition. In 2004-2006 she toured to remote parts of North Queensland with her quartet and didgeridoo player, William Barton as part of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music.

Natalie is also an experienced orchestral musician. She has played with the Australian Youth Orchestra, Traverse Symphony, Jackson Symphony, Lansing Symphony, West Michigan Symphony, and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.

Ange Gadd has been playing the trombone for almost 15 years. Originally from Hervey Bay, she moved to Brisbane to study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2001. She studied classical trombone for two and half years before taking up jazz performance for a further two years to complete her Bachelor of Music (specializing in performance).

Since completing her degree, Ange has been performing in a variety of styles, from jazz through to reggae through to latin throughout Brisbane, the East Coast of Australia and New Zealand. She is currently an active performer, songwriter and band manager in Brisbane, and plays regularly in clubs and venues locally and interstate.

Ange’s teaching style combines an interest in creativity, expression and improvisation in music, backed by a strong foundation of the technical aspects of trombone playing and music theory knowledge. Ange would be delighted to share with you her diverse musical experience, whether it be orchestral, big band, jazz, rockabilly, swing, reggae, dub, rock, pop, latin or experimental trombone you are interested in.
